THANK YOU

A very special “thank you” to all the folks who supported the parish Lasagna Dinner, it was a great success . . . . Kudos goes to the organizing committee and all the people who helped out. We would also like to say thank you to our caterer, Colombo’s Pizza at 1794 Danforth Ave. for the hearty dinner and the special deal. The evening was even more fun because of the exciting Door Prizes donated by Astoria Restaurant, Blackstone Organic Meats, Hair By Nature, Kernels and Sweet Tooth Café all on the Danforth. Hope to see an even bigger crowd at our next parish party . . . details will follow.

RCIA
Celebrating the Rites of Welcoming and Acceptance

The baptized Catholics who wish to complete their initiation into the full sacramental life of the church, and the baptized but uncatechized adults who wish to be received into full communion of the Catholic Church, will be celebrating the rite of welcoming candidates for the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist on Saturday, November 29th, 2008 at the 5:15pm mass.
The unbaptized adults who wish to celebrate the sacraments of initiation will assemble publicly for the first time to declare their intention to the church. The church in turn will accept them as persons who intend to become its members. This is called the Rite of Acceptance into The Order of Catechumens and will be celebrated on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the 10:00am mass.
Please welcome and pray for them as they journey.

Holy Name Parish is Looking for someone to clear the snow from sidewalks and steps throughout the coming season. The clearing of snow will include both the use of a snow machine and shovel. Payment will be on an hourly basis. If you are interested, please contact the parish office.

Taste of the Danforth Water

As you know the Taste of the Danforth events of August past were less than successful due to the record rainfall that weekend. Because of this the parish has quite a few cases of unsold water available. These are being offered for sale at the bargain basement price of $3.00 per case of 24. Should you be interested, please contact the parish office. Thank you.
