Children's Program

If you need to pick your child up early from the Children’s Program downstairs, please don’t forget to let a teacher know that your child is leaving.  It’s also important that your child is only picked up by someone who is known to the teachers.

Calling all Carolers

On Friday, December 19th meet in the church basement  at 7 p.m. to do some serious Christmas Caroling. We’ll be strolling the Danforth, visiting the homes of a few members of the Holy Name Communtiy who aren’t able to join us and generally spreading the joy of the season. Hot chocolate, coffee and tea provided back at the church after caroling.  Please bring a bag of cookies if you can!

for Monday, December 22nd at 10:30 am & Tuesday, December 23rd at 10:30 am

Please come and help beautify our Church for the Christmas celebrations.  “Many hands make light work!”  There is work for all: men, women and children.

Thank you, Sacristans

Giving Tree

Each year The Society of St Vincent De Paul, Holy Name asks you to support our Giving Tree. This is about taking a dove and buying a toy or gift for needy children in our community.

Along with the doves, we are offering you the opportunity to give a gift donation in the name of your friends, family and colleagues. This is a gift that 100% supports the less fortunate of our community and helps St Vincent de Paul continue our work of helping those in need. Please consider taking a gift card package from the Giving Tree and give a gift that gives back.

We are also looking for parishioners to sponsor families at Christmas time. Let’s share our abundance with the less fortunate in our parish community. Please phone Holy Name St. Vincent de Paul at 416-469-0842 and leave a message.

To all who came to celebrate my 40th Anniversary to the priesthood last Sunday.  A special thanks to Joyce Rerrie who planned and organized, to Sheila, Ann, Nora, Pamela and Carol who took on responsibilities for various aspects.  There were quite a few others who offered their assistance in various ways and were too many to name and I thank each of you as well.  Thank you also to the African Catholic Community whose presence added to the joyousness and unity of the occasion.  The cooperation of the two choirs was noted by many in attendance and I thank both Sarah and Serge for that.  At the time of this writing I am still feeling the ‘glow’ of it all.  One particularly important part for me was the fact that this turned out to be a celebration by so many in our parish community.  So often we can be divided for all sorts of reasons, it is good to see that we do come together and that we are one large family not only in the eyes of God but in reality as well.  Again thank you for accepting me as your pastor and for loving me despite my faults.  May God bless you all.

Fr. Andrew
