Yes To the New Relationships
Brought By Christ
One important challenge is to show that the solution will never be found in fleeing from a personal and committed relationship with God which at the same time commits us to serving others. This happens frequently nowadays, as believers seek to hid or keep apart from others.
. . . . We need to help others to realize that the only way is to learn how to encounter others with the right attitude, which is to accept and esteem them as companions along the way, without interior resistance. Better yet, it means learning to find Jesus in the faces of others, in their voices, in their pleas. And learning to suffer in the embrace of the crucified Jesus whenever we are unjustly attacked or meet with ingratitude, never tiring of our decision to live in fraternity.
. . . . There indeed we find true healing, since the way to relate to others which truly heals instead of debilitating us, is a mystical fraternity, a contemplative fraternity. It is a fraternal love capable of seeing the sacred grandeur of our neighbour, of finding God in every human being, of tolerating the nuisances of life in common by clinging to the love of God, of opening the heart to divine love and seeking the happiness of others just as their heavenly Father does. Here and now, especially where we are a “little flock” (Lk 12:32), the Lord’s disciples are called to live as a community which is the salt of the earth and the light of the world (cf. Mt 5:13-16). We are called to bear witness to a constantly new way of living together in fidelity to the Gospel. Let us not allow ourselves to be robbed of community!

Sacrament of Confirmation
Next Sunday we will celebrate Confirmation on June 8th, 2014 at 10 a.m. These young people are signs of hope and renewal for the Church. Their celebration of Confirmation confirms the faith of the community as well as their own faith. The entire community welcomes these young people.
Please keep in your prayers the young people who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. May the blessing of God's gifts be profoundly experienced by all of them and their families at this wonderful time and may their faith continue to grow and deepen throughout their lives.
“Now in its 38th year of helping the whole community, the number of agencies funded by ShareLife’s annual appeal has increased significantly, reflecting the growing local social needs. The reality is there are more people relying on ShareLife today then ever before! I firmly believe we can continue to offer them a helping hand if we all participate.
Your donation, regardless of the amount, will bring us closer to our goal. Thank you for the contribution you make in gift and deed to our Church and to the community at large. My prayer is that the Lord will help us all to share our time, talents and treasure with a generous spirit.”
-Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto
Today is the Third ShareLife Sunday.
Thank you for your generosity
Together we can work wonders!

Please note for Children's Program
Next, Sunday, June 8, we will not have a Children's Liturgy Program for the children aged 7-11 (the older group). Most of the limited space in the church basement will be needed for the Confirmation. Also, we believe it is important and beneficial for the children aged 7-11 to remain upstairs in order to witness the sacrament of Confirmation.
The children's program for the younger group (children aged 3-6) will be available, and will be located in the chapel. However, the children will not be called up to the front during Mass to be sent to their program. Instead, parents who want or need their younger children to be in the children's program on June 8 are asked to bring the children directly to the chapel before Mass. You can reach the chapel by entering the church through the Gough Ave. side entrance (and then going upstairs). Parents are also asked to pick up their children from the chapel before the end of communion.
