Mass in a Moment
By Margaret Bick
Communion. Holy communion. What is communion? At the heart of the word and of the reality is “union.” Our Eucharist leads to union. We may be used to thinking about “my” union with Jesus at communion time, but this by itself is only a beginning.
Communion of life is the work of the Holy Spirit. The communion rite is about shared life. It is about sharing life with the triune God and with each other in Christ and through Christ.
It is about unity made possible and brought about only the Holy Spirit. When we say our communion Amen’s, we say yes at many levels:
YES to sealing the new covenant with God in the Body and Blood of Christ
YES to becoming what we eat and drink
YES to living the lifestyle of the kingdom of God.

Please note that the Baptism Date must be confirmed with Carol BEFORE you make arrangements for family and friends to attend. Monthly Baptisms are on a first come first served basis.
The next Baptism Preparation Session will be Saturday, September 12th at 10 a.m. in the parish room. The upcoming Baptism dates are: September 20th, October 17th and November 21st at 2 p.m.
Welcome new parishioners! To be a registered member of our parish is to have a sense of belonging to a Community of Faith. Please introduce yourself/family to the pastor and register as soon as possible. All parishioners especially those who live outside our parish boundaries are expected to complete a Parish Registration form and use Sunday Offertory Envelopes. This will greatly assist the Parish Team when parishioners request sacraments, funerals or letters of reference. N.B. Please notify the parish office if you change your address or family information.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The process to begin the instructions in the Catholic Faith for Adults is on its way.
If you are or if you know:
Someone who is interested in becoming a Christian, or
A Christian who would like to become a Roman Catholic, or
A Roman Catholic who has not received the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, or Confirmation; or who wishes to update his/her faith, then the R.C.I.A. is the right place to contact.
Pass along this information to everyone, as Jesus says, “Come and See”.
RCIA is looking for sponsors
In order to best serve the individual needs of inquirers, RCIA is in need of many women and men who would like to share their faith journey.
Each person will sponsor one of our inquirers. Please call the rectory to have a member of the RCIA contact you to answer any questions.
This is a wonderful work of evangelization and is a very rewarding experience for all of us. If you are interested please call the parish office at 416-466-8281.
